Day 10 - Sunday March 19
San Cristobal and Departure
Today the journey ends as we headed back to San Cristobal, to the town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
Our first stop was the new Galapagos Interpretation Center, which gives an overview of the geology and wildlife of the Islands. The architect father of our guide, Andres, designed the building.
Our second stop was the home of our other guide, Whitman. He and his family live on the main street in town, in a building shared with a restaurant and a gift shop. He opened his home for us to leave our bags and other clutter while we explored the village.
We wandered around the harbor and checked out the shops, but all too soon it was time to head for the airport and to say goodbye to our new friends from around the world.

We left the Galapagos Islands about midday and were back in Quito by late afternoon, met at the airport by our trusty guide Fernando who carried us back to our Quito hotel.
